How to select your builder

Help #1.  CHOOSE SOMEONE YOU KNOW OR IS REFERRED!

  • Building a new home can be fun and exciting.  It can also seem overwhelming and stressful at times -- even if you've done it before.   A good relationship with your builder is a fundamental building block to start your home project off correctly.  Corban works with you, not just for you, through each phase of the project making sure you have every opportunity to get exactly what you want.

  • If you don't know anyone in the business you'll have to ask someone.

    • Again, this referral should be from a close friend or associate that you know will tell you the truth.  Hopefully, they've had a first-hand good experience with the builder.

    • Interview the builder(s).  Get as many references as you can.  Speaking directly with previous homeowners is best.  Secondarily, bankers, subcontractors, suppliers and the Registrar of Contractors can provide insightful information.

Help #2.  Choose someone who is HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY!

  • The builder is responsible for managing a large sum of your money.   It's good to know and feel that they're looking out for your best interest.

Help #3.  PICK A PROFESSIONAL with three "C's"

Help #4.  Choose someone that's a TEAM PLAYER.

  • Someone who is willing AND able to help you.

    • How busy is the builder?

  • That can easily integrate as a member of your team of professionals.

    • Bankers, realtors, designers, architects, suppliers and YOU!
